Coming Full Circle……

As a young person ( oh so many years ago ), I found I had some artistic abilities and love of photography. I tried for a short time to advance those abilities but then chose to abandon that idea in favor of more gainful employment. Fast forwarding about 40 years, my youngest daughter bought me a watercolor set as I had mentioned to her my interest in that medium. I loved working with it! It’s something about the water and pigments that challenges me ( but sometimes infuriates me as well ). With the insistence of my family, I married my love of photography and my new love of watercolors. I have turned many of my previous photographs into ink & watercolor paintings.
I like to focus on the fantastic landscapes and architecture of my hometown state of Virginia, but I paint any scene that I find interesting. That seemingly mundane, ordinary scene you pass by every day, is really a fantastic ink & watercolor just waiting to be created.
